Feeding with Confidence

For the last few years we've conducted a global survey into the attitudes and perceptions of breastfeeding across the world, from the UK and America to France, Germany and Turkey. This year's UK results are back and we've put the results, along with further UK research with YouGov into a handy infographic to give you a snapshot into breastfeeding in the UK in 2017.

As our infographic above illustrates, a large percentage of pregnant mums intend to breastfeed and initiate breastfeeding but in a matter of months after birth the percentage of mums still breastfeeding significantly drops.

During initiatives such as National Breastfeeding Week and World Breastfeeding Week we're reminded that we can all play our part in supporting mums who wish to breastfeed or want support to continue breastfeeding for longer, whether this is through healthcare advice when they embark on their breastfeeding journey or during small moments on kindness when we see a fellow parent feeding while out and about.

It's also important to thank those who support the right to breastfeed and that's why we're launching our Feed with Confidence awards to highlight the support offered to breastfeeding mums by places across the UK. From cafes and cinemas to parks and shopping centres. Nominate a place near you and you'll also be entered into a prize draw to win a family friendly mini break.
